It's been such a long time!!!

Well here I am again.  It has been such a long time since I visited thi page, I do not even know where to start.  Well for one, my photography has not gone anywhere.  I have been so busy with my school work (I am a full time student at the University of Phoenix) and chasing my five lil munchkins that I have hardly enough time for myself.

The summer '11 was great!  My little girl, Abby began walkng.  Her twin brother Henry, still wanted to be the baby.  So with that said, he crawled everywhere.  The other children played all day long every day.
July 2011 brings on the fourth of July fireworks and even more fun.  Tons of grill outs, family and friends.  We even were able to plan the first family vacaton in well 6 years!  The kids return to school in August, so we decide to travel almost across the United States to South Dakota.  My hubby found a great deal on a bus (literally this vehicle holds up to 11 assengers and when we are finished it will hold up to 14 passengers) bought it, put what ever mechanical work in it so that it would safetly make the long trip, and on August 12th we took off!  Headed out to South Dakota with a via point in Chicago, IL.  (We dropped off a customer car).
The hubby's birthday is August 13th so this was like an early birthday present.  So you might ask, what would be out in South Dakota that would make us drive that far?  Well my husband and I always wanted to see Mount Rushmore moument.  So we took two of our nephewes and drove... And what a drive it was.

Mount Rushmore was breathtaking to say the least.  It was an experience that I am so glad I got to have.  The monument is just absolutley huge, and it is so hard to believe that someone actually carved it out in the stone.

September brings on the birthdays...
Leslie is the first with Molly comming up right behind her and about two weeks later is Leo.  We give each child a small family only party on their actual birthday and then we plan one ig party for all three of them.  Usually it is my husband that makes the cakes (we never buy them because making them is so much more fun and inexpensive) however this year it was me.  I have found that with the right tools, decorating cakes is actually fun.  So I got to play with cakes... I made Leslie's first.. She told me she wanted a castle.  But it was not just any castle.. It had to be the princess castle from the Betty Crocker website.   It looked hard but it was actually fun and pretty easy.  It turned out beautiful!!

Molly's cake was next and because she is a teenager I did not want to do sometig so little girly so I went to Michaels and purchased one of Duffs edible cake tatoo's which was not so little girly.  She loved it and so di everyone else.  Everyone wanted to know my secret.. I didn't tell them so shhhh...

For Leo's cake well that lil man is in to Lego's so I decided to make him a Lego cake from Betty Crocker's website also.  This was also a huge hit!!  Especially with the birthday guy.  This cake looked like it was going to be ifficult but really again it was pretty simple and the tops of the Lego's were actually marshmallows just cut in half and dipped in the icing!  Pretty cool huh?

October is my birthday but most of all it is Halloween which is one of my favorite holidays.  I love to dress the kids up and take them out trick or treating!!  This year Abby and Henry were Raggedy Ann and Andy (which because they are twins.. everyone loved), Leslie was a purple crayon and Leo was a red crayon.  Molly did not really dress up, she was a dramatic teenager which fits her to a T!

So that has brought you up to speed on what I have been doing for the past several months.  We just passed Thanksgiving which was the bestest Thanksgiving dinner I have ever made!  We had so much food that we are still eating leftovers.  There was my hubbys favorite side dish Prailine Sweet Potatoes among other dishes I fixed.

I know that I am a very busy mother and student but I am going to try harder to get on here and post about once a week.

Spring 2011

Well it's here once again.... One of my favorite times of year!!!
Spring

And one of my favorite things to do is to take photos outside in the warm, or HOT weather.
This year we have been riddled with TONS of rain but It's almost Memorial Day and I am thinking that the rain is leaving and the Summer weather is here to stay.

Stop back often to see just what new photo adventures I have gotten in to!!

Photoshop Photography

One of my favorite past times is using Photoshop to edit my photographs.  In the photographs posted I have used the crop tool.  This is something that I worked on last night.  I love the idea of film strip photo frames.  I used several photos that I cropped in Photoshop and then added to the film strip.
Adding the pictures to the film strip was the tricky part because I had to resize he photos to fit in the squares.  All in all there are flaws but I had a lot of fun working on this project.

In the beginning

I started this blog to share my photographic memories.  Photography is not only my hobby but my passion.  Along with taking the photo's, I love to use them for scrap booking projects, which I will periodically post here.
